Crewmanual records your office software, which means it sees your customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers and prices. We built it so that information stays with you.
What never leaves your computer
- Your screenshots. Every image Crewmanual captures is stored by the extension on the computer that recorded it. We do not upload them, we do not have a copy, and we could not produce one if you asked.
- Your recordings and guides. Same. They live in your browser’s storage until you export or share them yourself.
The one thing the extension sends, and what is in it
When you paste your licence key, and at most once a month after that, the extension asks Polar whether that key is still valid. That request contains the licence key and nothing else — no guides, no screenshots, no question you typed, no list of what you record. If your internet is down or Polar cannot be reached, the check is skipped and everything you paid for keeps working.
That is the only request the extension makes. The new-hire answer box looks through the guides you recorded, on your own machine, and the printed handbook is built in your browser from your own screenshots. Neither one sends your question or your work anywhere, which is also why the answer box says “nothing in the manual covers that yet” instead of inventing an answer.
“Copy for ChatGPT or Claude” copies to your clipboard. It puts the text of one guide — never the screenshots — on your clipboard for you to paste. Crewmanual does not send it. Whatever you then paste into an AI tool is between you and that tool, so take out customer information you would rather not share first.
What we store about you
- If you buy: your email address and your licence key. Payment is handled by Polar, our payment processor and merchant of record. Your card details go to them, not to us — we never see or store a card number.
- If you email us: your email and whatever you wrote.
- Usage measurements: counts of things like “a guide was recorded” or “an export was run”, plus ordinary website analytics on crewmanual.com. These are counts and events, not the contents of your work. We also collect crash and error reports so we can fix what breaks.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of services to run this: Polar for payments and for checking licence keys, Vercel for hosting crewmanual.com, and analytics and error-reporting providers for the website. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job. We do not sell your information to anyone, for any amount, ever.
Your rights
Email support@crewmanual.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting your purchase record also deletes your licence key, so say so plainly if that is what you want. Your guides and screenshots are on your own computer — deleting those is yours to do, and uninstalling the extension removes them.
Children
Crewmanual is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and say what changed. Questions: support@crewmanual.com.
